Hi HATS,
Your presentation is clear and easy to understand. In your presented research, environment is so important that students can develop basic or even advanced ICT skills. Self interest and individual recognition are important driving forces for students to develop further for expertise skills. If this is the case, I think government/ schools should put more resources to build a good environment of ICT in schools.

very good job with the slides. very simple, clear and extremely easy to understand. the findings reinforce the importance of a proper environment and learning culture/community for fostering individual ICT development.

I agree completely with phoebe, environment and resources are crucial for learning advanced ICT skills. It's not easy to become experts, no hardware and software support is hard for students to learn and apply ICT both at school or at home.
Apart from the learning environment, computer ownership is another factor for students to develop their ICT skills. Computer ownership induces computer experience and computer interest, students from grass-rooted family may not have their own computer to work with at home, and reflected from my students that girls are considered to be the second-rate computer users in their family.
I would think if the subject choosen were from HK student, the conclusion would be more convincing. As you know, student in HK like online games, blog, msn, etc. How effective can they develop basic or even advanced ICT skills is still a question.
